Colchester had proved to be the ideal location from which to service our customers throughout East Anglia, and we were convinced that it was the right location from which to spread our coverage to London and Southern England.

We found our new site on a prestige development in North Colchester - ideally situated close to the A12 trunk route giving us rapid access - southwards to London and the Home Counties, and northwards to East Anglia. A spacious two acre site gave us the opportunity to create a purpose-designed facility for timber management and manufacture.

The second phase of G & C Softwoods business plan came to fruition in 1988 when we moved the whole of our operation to Stephenson Road on the Severalls Park Industrial Estate where our milling and manufacturing operation can be carried out in spacious workshops using modern machinery and techniques allied to traditional craftsmanship.
